TRIPPING ON LEGENDS LIVE: FAMOUS CASE, HIGHWAY 50

An origin story based on a famous legend which people claim is fact and not folklore.  A television show responsible for creating and spreading urban legends.  Two nights with a guitar, a candle, a book, and an idea.

Tripping on Legends explores the famous case of the Woman of Highway 50, a story once told on Unsolved Mysteries, remembered a decade later by a songwriter, and remembered two decades after that when this whole Legend Tripping gig got started.

Who was the woman who saved her son after her death, and why does the story refuse to die.

TRIPPING ON LEGENDS LIVE: The TrueFLORIDA Paranormal Panel

As Event Season presses on, Christopher Balzano makes his way to the Space Coast to do a panel at the Brevard County’s Eau Gallie Public Library.

The TrueFLORIDA Paranormal Panel paired Tripping on Legends with Space Coast Paranormal Society for an interesting discussion on the paranormal from an investigator side and from Balzano’s legend tripping angle. The audience also gets involved, sharing stories of haunted battlefields, monasteries, and houses.

TRIPPING ON LEGENDS LIVE: THE GHOSTLY AUDIENCE

On the eve of the National Ghost Hunting Day, what does a folklorist do?

Stay home and talk about story.

Tripping on history, folklore, ideas on ghosts, and audience expectations, how does a storyteller about the paranormal serve all masters? What does the paranormal audience want when it goes to an event? As “holiday” season opens up, Christopher Balzano talks about the dilemma of the some the upcoming library and book events he has coming up and striking the balance between a good ghost story, a true ghost story, and a ghost story with no ghost at all.

Episode 17…Trips, Triangles, and North Carolina Folklore

Only two days from the beginning of the Tripping on Legends Summer Road Trip, Natalie Crist and Christopher Balzano get more in depth with the first leg of the trip through Florida and into North Carolina to explore an area known as the Piedmonts.

The Trippers break down several of the potential places within the Piedmonts that are perfect for the Legend Project. After talking about Shiloh Cemetery in Sanford, Florida, they travel up 95 to North Carolina and the Biltmore Hotel in Greensboro. They then look at a phantom hitchhiker legend, the tale of the Little Red Man in Winston-Salem, the infamous Catsburg Ghost Train near Durham, and the Devil’s Trampling Ground.

Episode 18…Whispers and Screams from Shiloh

The Tripping on Legends Road Trip 2017 has finally actually hit the road…although the first stop is in Florida.

Natalie Crist and Christopher Balzano make a quick pit stop in Sanford, Florida, to visit the cemetery behind the cemetery. Shiloh Cemetery is known for an urban legend of a serial killer victim with beautiful hair but no face.

There might be something else there with her though as a man with a like (or a distaste) for Natalie starts to come through loud and clear.

19…Tripping Carolina in My Mind

On day two of the Tripping on Legends Road Trip, Natalie Crist and Christopher Balzano hit the great state of North Carolina.

Over the next two days, the Trippers hit up three urban legends from the area known as The Piedmonts. First they look to discover what the true story is at the Devil’s Tramping Ground in Chatham County.

Something decides to kick something out of the Tramping Ground as the Tripper explore the surrounding area…the craziness starts 19 seconds in…

They then head to Durham to search for the headless trainman who walks the grounds near the old Catsburg Country Store.

They close out the marathon day hot on the trail of a white gowned ghost hitchhiker named Lydia. You can look into some of the stories at North Carolina Ghost Stories.

…and don’t forget their night in the haunted Biltmore Hotel
